What is Fertomid?

Fertomid is produced by Cipla India. Clomiphene citrate is a drug used in the post cycle therapy by the athletes in order to increase total testosterone levels. Clomiphene is one of the drugs indicated in males who may suffer of low testosterone levels after anabolic steroid’ cycle. It has the ability to bind to the estrogen receptors in males who run estrogenic compounds such as nandrolone decanoate, testosterone, methandrostenolone and others. Overall, it is a great drug that increases testosterone levels and helps preventing side effects related to suppression of natural levels of testosterone.

Possible side effects with Fertomid

Like in case of other selective estrogen receptor modulators, clomiphene citrate may cause side effects. Generally, severe side effects with clomiphene citrate may occur when taking it in high doses for an extended period of time. Other side effects associated with high doses and long lasting therapy are the following: changes in mood, depression, unusual tiredness and others. Therefore, users who are prone to such adverse reactions are recommended to take clomiphene citrate in lower doses and for a pre-determined period of time. As for toxicity, clomiphene citrate is a very safe drug and even males with pre-existent renal or liver diseases may find it tolerant and efficient.

Indications of use and dosage

It should be noted that Fertomid comes in form of tablets and it is intended for oral administration. Generally, it is considered that even a dose of 150mg per day of clomiphene citrate increases testosterone levels to approximately 150% of baseline value. However, depending on existing endogenous testosterone levels, one may use a dose lower than 150mg. Therefore, a dose of 100mg per day for a week will provide good elevations in testosterone levels. Tablets may be taken with or without food. For a better absorption of the tablets, it is recommended to take them with a glass of water or juice.

The increase in testosterone should occur slowly but evenly throughout the whole period of therapy. In order to obtain an immediate boost in testosterone, clomiphene citrate may be used in combination with Human Chorionic Gonadotropin, better in the first two weeks after discontinuation with steroids.
